How to Create Company or Contact Tasks

Creating Company or Contact Tasks

There are two types of tasks you can build in the Customer Management Module: Company Tasks and Contact Tasks. Company Tasks are those associated with a specific company. Contact Tasks are those associated with a specific contact.

Creating a Company Task:

  • Start on the Company Detail Page of the company for which you’d like to create a task.
  • Then from the Quick Actions Menu, select “Create Task from Company”.
  • A tray will appear with the company name at the top.
  • Click on the “Task Type” dropdown and select the type of Company Task you want to create.
    • If you are a managerial user, click on the “Assign To” dropdown to assign the task to yourself and/or another user. You can assign the task to multiple users by selecting more than one name from the dropdown.
    • If you are not a managerial user, the task will automatically be assigned to you.
  • An optional checkbox is available to indicate that this is a Goal Task.
  • In the “Regarding” field, type a brief explanation as to what the task is related.
  • Click on the “Start Date” to select from the calendar the start and end dates for the task.
  • If you prefer to schedule the task without a specific time, click the “Timeless” checkbox.
  • To schedule a specific time for the task, complete the “Start Time” and “End Time” fields.
  • In the “Note” field, enter any relevant notes; once the task is saved, the note will be saved as a separate entry on the Notes Tab of the task.
  • When you’re done, click the “Save” button.
  • The task will now be saved to the company. It will appear on the Tasks Tab for that company, the Task Listing Page, and the RLM Calendar.

Creating a Contact Task:

  • Start on the Contact Detail Page of the contact for which you’d like to create a task.
  • Then from the Quick Actions Menu, select “Create Task from Contact”.
  • A tray will appear with the contact name at the top.
  • Click on the “Task Type” dropdown and select the type of Contact Task you want to create.
  • When you’re done, click on the “Save” button.
  • The task will now be saved to the contact. It will appear on the Tasks Tab for that contact, the Task Listing Page, and the RLM Calendar.
