Creating a Company
To understand the rules for building Companies in the Customer Management Module, see the Rules for Leads, Contacts, and Companies reference document.
There are two ways to create a new company in the Customer Management Module.

Method 1: Creating a company from the Plus button
- From any listing or detail page, click on the Plus button.
- Click on “Create Company”.
- Complete the fields on the screen with the information about the company you’re creaing.
- Please note: Only add an account executive to a company if there is one account executive that is responsible for managing this company. Otherwise, leave this field blank.
- When you’re done completing the fields, click on the “Save” button.
- Please note: If the company you’ve created already exists in the system with the same name and zip code, you will receive this error message: “Unable to create company.” and a duplicate company will not be created.
- The new company you created will now appear on the Company Listing Page in the Customer Management Module.
- Method 2: Creating a company from a lead
- The Customer Management Module gives you the ability to automatically create a company from a lead. Please note: You can also create rules that determine the pipelines for which the system automatically creates a company from a lead. If you have a pipeline set up to automatically create a company from a lead, follow these steps to build a company from a lead.
- From any listing or detail page, click on the Plus button.
- Select the pipeline in which you want to create the lead.
- To check if the company already exists, begin typing in the “Company Name” field. If the company exists, it will appear in the search results. You may select the existing company and continue creating the lead.
- If the company does not already exist in the system, click in the “Company Name” field and enter the company’s name.
- Complete the other company related fields with the information you’d like to include in the company you’re creating.
- Next, enter the remaining information about your lead.
- Click on the “Create Lead” button to save your updates.
- The new company you created will now appear on the Company Listing Page in the Customer Management Module.
